Safety Town is a program for 4-6 year olds that teaches them to be safe in their community. Children learn about many different things in the community and how those things keep us safe, then they go to Safety Town to practice what they have learned. Safety Town is a miniature town where children ride bikes through. They practice stopping at stop signs, railroad crossings, stop lights, one-way streets and cross walks. With the help of community organizations and Officer Friendly, children get to learn about all of the following safety situations:
-Street signs and car safety
-Railroad Safety with Operation Life Saver
-Water Safety
-Bus, Bike and Pedestrian Safety
-Stranger Awareness
-Home Safety
-Playground Safety
-Digging Safety with Ohio Gas
Held in conjunction with Camp Fire and the Fostoria Police Division, the registration is $35.00 per child. The deadline is May 31st. Safety Town will be held at the Fostoria Early Childhood Center at 801 Kirk Street. More info at: https://campfirenwohio.com/fostoria-safety-town/
